पापमोचनी एकादशी

पापमोचनी एकादशी का अर्थ है एकादशी जो पाप का नाश करती है। इस दिन भगवान विष्णु की विधि-विधान से पूजा करनी चाहिए। पापमोचनी एकादशी के दिन व्यक्ति को निंदा और झूठ बोलने से बचना चाहिए। इस व्रत का पालन करने से व्यक्ति को बहादुरी, सोने की चोरी, शराब पीने, अहिंसा और भ्रूण हत्या सहित कई पापों से छुटकारा मिलता है।

पापमोचनी एकादशी व्रत विधि

पापमोचनी एकादशी व्रत की पूजा की विधि जो सभी पापों को समाप्त करती है, इस प्रकार है:

1. एकादशी के दौरान सूर्योदय के बाद स्नान करके व्रत का संकल्प करें।
2. इसके बाद भगवान विष्णु की षोडशोपचार विधि से पूजा करें और पूजा करने के बाद भगवान को धूप, दीप, चंदन और फल आदि चढ़ाकर आरती करनी चाहिए।
3. इस दिन, भिक्षा, जरूरतमंद व्यक्तियों और ब्राह्मणों को दान और भोजन करना चाहिए।
4. पापमोचनी एकादशी के दिन रात्रि में जागरण करना चाहिए और अगले दिन द्वादशी को उपवास करने के बाद व्रत खोलना चाहिए।

ऐसा माना जाता है कि इस व्रत को करने से पापों का नाश होता है और सुख-समृद्धि की प्राप्ति होती है। एकादशी तिथि का जागरण कई गुना गुण भी देता है।

पौराणिक कथा

धार्मिक मान्यता के अनुसार, प्राचीन काल में चैत्रथ नामक एक बहुत ही सुंदर जंगल था। इस जंगल में, च्यवन ऋषि के पुत्र मेधावी ऋषि तपस्या करते थे। इस जंगल में देवराज इंद्र गंधर्व लड़कियों, अप्सराओं और देवताओं के साथ घूमते थे। मेधावी ऋषि शिव भक्त और अप्सराएँ शिवद्रोही कामदेव के अनुयायी थे। एक समय में, कामदेव ने एक प्रतिभाशाली ऋषि की तपस्या को तोड़ने के लिए मंजू घोष नामक एक अप्सरा को भेजा। वह अपने नृत्य, गान और सुंदरता के साथ मेधावी भिक्षुओं को विचलित करता है। इसी समय, मुनि मेधावी भी मंजुघोषा पर मोहित हो गए। इसके बाद, दोनों ने कई साल एक साथ बिताए। एक दिन जब मंजुगोशा ने छोड़ने की अनुमति मांगी, तो मेधावी ऋषि को पता चला कि उनकी गलती और तपस्या भंग हो गई है। इसके बाद, उन्होंने गुस्से में आकर मंजुगोशा को पिशाच होने का शाप दे दिया। इसके बाद, अप्सरा ऋषि के पैरों में गिर गई और शाप के लिए एक उपाय पूछा। मंजुगोशा के साथ कई बार विनती करने के बाद, मेधावी ऋषि ने उन्हें पापमोचनी एकादशी का व्रत लेने के लिए कहा और कहा कि इस व्रत को करने से तुम्हारे पाप नष्ट हो जाएंगे और तुम अपना पूर्व रूप पुनः प्राप्त करोगे। अप्सरा को मोक्ष का मार्ग बताते हुए, मेधावी ऋषि अपने पिता के महर्षि च्यवन के पास पहुँचे। शाप सुनकर च्यवन ऋषि ने कहा कि "पुत्र तुमने अच्छा नहीं किया। ऐसा करने से तुमने पाप भी कमाए हैं, इसलिए तुम भी पापमोचनी एकादशी का व्रत कर सकते हो।"

इस तरह पापमोचनी एकादशी का व्रत करने से अप्सरा मंजुघोषा को शाप और मेधावी संत पाप से मुक्ति मिली।

Papamochani Ekadashi

Papamochani Ekadashi means Ekadashi that destroys sin. On this day, Lord Vishnu should be worshiped by law. On the day of Papamochani Ekadashi one should avoid condemning and lying. By observing this fast, one gets rid of the guilt of many sins including bravery, gold theft, drinking, non-violence and feticide.

Papamochani Ekadashi fasting method

The method of worship of Papamochani Ekadashi fasting which eliminates all sins is as follows:

1. Resolve the fast after bathing on sunrise during Ekadashi.
2. After this, worship Lord Vishnu with Shodashopchar method and after worshiping, Lord should perform Aarti by offering incense, lamp, sandalwood and fruits etc.
3. On this day, alms, needy persons and Brahmins must make donations and food.
4. Awakening in the night on the day of Papamochani Ekadashi should be continuous and after fasting on Dwadashi the next day, the fast should be opened.

It is believed that by observing this fast, sins are eliminated and happiness and prosperity is attained. Awakening of Ekadashi date also gives manifold merits.

According to religious belief, there was a very beautiful forest called Chaitratha in ancient times. In this forest, Chhayavan Rishi's son Medhavi Rishi used to do penance. In this forest, Devraj Indra Gandharva used to roam with girls, nymphs and deities. The meritorious sage Shiva devotees and apsaras were followers of Shivdrohi Kamadeva. At one time, Cupid sent an apsara named Manju Ghosha to break the penance of a meritorious sage. He distracts the meritorious monks with his dance, anthem and beauty. At the same time, Muni Medhavi was also fascinated by Manjugosha. After this, both of them spent many years together. One day when Manjugosha asked for permission to leave, the meritorious sage realized his errand and penance had broken. After this, he got angry and cursed Manjugosha for being a vampire. After this, Apsara fell into the sage's feet and asked for a remedy for the curse. After pleading with Manjugosha many times, the meritorious sage told him to take a fast for Papamochani Ekadashi and said that by observing this fast, your sins will be destroyed and you will regain your former form. Telling Apsara the path of salvation, the meritorious sage reached his father's Maharishi Chyavan. Hearing the curse, Chyavan Rishi said that "Son, you did not do well, by doing this you have also earned sin, so you too can observe the Papamochani Ekadashi."

In this way, by fasting on Papamochani Ekadashi, Apsara Manjugosha got rid of the curse and meritorious sage from sin.
