Headlines should attract the attention of reader also help the newspaper or articles for set the tone.

Type of headlines

1.       Kicker headlines – very short display type headlines.

2.       Stet headlines – mean standing headlines which is used continuously issue after issue.

3.       A reverse headline is set in reverse the letters are printed in white in black background.

4.       Reverse kicker – short headlines in larger size place above the main headlines. Its also called hammer or barker

5.       Banner headlines spread across all the columns of front page. Its use for very important stories
