आमलकी एकादशी को आमलकी एकादशी भी कहा जाता है। अमलाकी का अर्थ है आंवला, जिसे हिंदू धर्म और आयुर्वेद दोनों में श्रेष्ठ कहा जाता है। पद्म पुराण के अनुसार, आंवला का पेड़ भगवान विष्णु को बहुत प्रिय है। आंवले के पेड़ में श्रीहरि और लक्ष्मी का वास होता है। आंवले के पेड़ में भगवान विष्णु का वास होने के कारण इसके नीचे भगवान की पूजा की जाती है, इसे आमलकी एकादशी कहा जाता है। इस दिन आंवले का उबालकर, आंवले के पानी से स्नान, आंवले की पूजा, आंवले का भोजन और आंवले का दान करना चाहिए।

आमलकी एकादशी व्रत विधि

आमलाकी एकादशी में आंवले का विशेष महत्व है। इस दिन पूजा से लेकर भोजन तक हर काम में आंवले का इस्तेमाल किया जाता है। आमलकी एकादशी की पूजा विधि इस प्रकार है:

1. इस दिन सुबह उठकर भगवान विष्णु का ध्यान करें और व्रत का संकल्प करें।
2. व्रत का संकल्प लेने के बाद स्नान करके भगवान विष्णु की पूजा करनी चाहिए। विष्णु सहस्रनाम का पाठ करें, घी का दीपक जलाएं।
3. पूजा के बाद, आंवले के पेड़ के नीचे नवरत्न युक्त कलश स्थापित किया जाना चाहिए। अगर आंवला का पेड़ उपलब्ध नहीं है, तो प्रसाद के रूप में भगवान विष्णु को आंवला फल चढ़ाएं।
4. आंवले के पेड़ की पूजा धूप, दीप, चंदन, रोली, पुष्प, अक्षत आदि से करनी चाहिए, इसके नीचे किसी गरीब, जरूरतमंद व्यक्ति या ब्राह्मण को भोजन कराना चाहिए।
5. अगले दिन द्वादशी को स्नान करने के बाद, भगवान विष्णु की पूजा करने के बाद, एक व्यक्ति या ब्राह्मण को एक कलश, कपड़े और आंवला आदि का दान करना चाहिए। इसके बाद, भोजन ग्रहण करने के बाद उपवास करना चाहिए।

आमलकी एकादशी व्रत का महत्व

पद्म पुराण के अनुसार, आमलकी एकादशी का व्रत करने से सैकड़ों तीर्थ दर्शन के समान पुण्य की प्राप्ति होती है। अमलकी एकादशी व्रत का पालन करने से व्यक्ति को मोक्ष प्राप्त होता है जो सभी यज्ञों के बराबर फल देता है। जो लोग आमलकी एकादशी व्रत का पालन नहीं करते हैं उन्हें भी इस एकादशी पर भगवान विष्णु को आंवला अर्पित करना चाहिए और इसे स्वयं खाना चाहिए। शास्त्रों के अनुसार, आमलकी एकादशी के दिन आंवले का सेवन करना बहुत फायदेमंद होता है।

पौराणिक कथा

प्राचीन काल में चित्रसेन नाम के एक राजा ने शासन किया था। एकादशी व्रत उनके राज्य में बहुत महत्वपूर्ण था और सभी लोग एकादशी व्रत का पालन करते थे। इसी समय, राजा को अमलकी एकादशी के लिए बहुत श्रद्धा थी।

एक दिन राजा शिकार करते हुए जंगल में बहुत दूर चला गया। फिर कुछ जंगली और पहाड़ी डाकुओं ने राजा को घेर लिया। डाकुओं ने तब राजा पर हथियारों से हमला किया। हालाँकि, भगवान की कृपा से राजा को जो भी हथियार दिए जाते थे, वह फूलों में बदल जाता था।

डाकुओं की संख्या अधिक होने के कारण राजा निहत्थे होकर जमीन पर गिर पड़ा। तब राजा के शरीर से एक दिव्य शक्ति प्रकट हुई और सभी राक्षसों को मारकर अदृश्य हो गई। जब राजा की चेतना लौटी, तो उसने सभी राक्षसों को मृत पाया। यह देखकर राजा को आश्चर्य हुआ कि इन डाकुओं को किसने मारा? तब आकाशवाणी हुई - हे राजन! आपके अमलकी एकादशी के व्रत के प्रभाव से ये सभी राक्षस मारे गए हैं। आपके शरीर से उत्पन्न हुई आमलकी एकादशी की वैष्णवी शक्ति ने उन्हें मार डाला। उन्हें मारने के बाद, उसने फिर से आपके शरीर में प्रवेश किया।


यह सुनकर राजा प्रसन्न हुआ और वापस लौट आया और राज्य में सभी को एकादशी का महत्व समझाया।

2. After taking the resolution of fast, one should worship Lord Vishnu after bathing. Recite Vishnu Sahasranama, lamp lamp of ghee.
3. After the Puja, a Kalash containing Navratna should be installed under the Amla tree. If Amla tree is not available, then offer Amla fruit to Lord Vishnu as a Prasad.
4. Amla tree should be worshiped with incense, lamp, sandalwood, roli, floral, Akshata etc. under it, a poor, needy person or a Brahmin should be fed under it.
5. After bathing on Dwadashi the next day, after worshiping Lord Vishnu, a person or a Brahmin should donate an urn, clothes and amla etc. After this, fasting should be taken after taking food.

Importance of Amalaki Ekadashi fast

According to Padma Purana, fasting of Amalaki Ekadashi achieves virtue similar to hundreds of pilgrimage darshan. A person receives salvation by observing Amalaki Ekadashi fast which gives fruits equal to all yagyas. Those who do not observe Amalaki Ekadashi fast should also offer Amla to Lord Vishnu on this Ekadashi and eat it themselves. According to the scriptures, consuming amla on the day of Amalaki Ekadashi is very beneficial.

One day the king went far away in the forest while hunting. Then some wild and mountain bandits surrounded the king. The bandits then attacked the king with weapons. However, whatever arms were bestowed on the king by God grace would turn into flowers.

Due to the high number of bandits, the king fell on the ground, being unarmed. Then a divine power appeared from the king's body and became invisible by killing all the demons. When the king's consciousness returned, he found all the demons dead. Seeing this, the king wondered who killed these bandits? Then there was the AIR - O Rajan! All these demons have been killed by the effect of fasting your Amalaki Ekadashi. The Vaishnavi power of Amalaki Ekadashi originated from your body has killed them. After killing them, she again entered your body there.

The king was pleased to hear this and returned and explained the importance of Ekadashi to everyone in the kingdom.
