चेट्टी चंद सिंधी समुदाय द्वारा मनाया जाने वाला एक प्रमुख त्योहार है। यह त्योहार सिंधी समाज के देवता भगवान झूले लाल की जयंती के रूप में मनाया जाता है, इसलिए इसे झूलेलाल जयंती के रूप में भी जाना जाता है। सिंधी नव वर्ष की शुरुआत इसी त्यौहार से होती है। चैती महीने में शुक्ल पक्ष के दूसरे दिन चेटी चंद पर्व मनाया जाता है। इस अवसर पर, सिंधी समुदाय के लोग जीवन में सुख और समृद्धि की कामना के लिए वरुण भगवान की पूजा करते हैं। क्योंकि भगवान झूले लाल को जल के देवता का अवतार माना जाता है। चेती चंद त्योहार अब धार्मिक महत्व तक ही सीमित नहीं है, बल्कि सिंधु सभ्यता के प्रतीक के रूप में भी जाना जाता है।

चेती चंद पूजा विधान

चेट्टी चंद के अवसर पर, भगवान झूले लाल की शोभा यात्रा सिंधी समुदाय द्वारा निकाली जाती है। इसके अलावा, इस दिन कई धार्मिक और सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम आयोजित किए जाते हैं।

1. चेती चंद की सुबह तिखने (मंदिरों) के दर्शन और बुजुर्गों के आशीर्वाद के साथ शुरू होती है।
2. चेती चंद के दिन, सिंधी समुदाय के लोग नदी और झील के किनारे बहिराणा साहिब की परंपरा को निभाते हैं। बहिराणा साहिब में आटे पर दीपक, मिश्री, सिंदूर, लौंग, इलायची, फल रखकर पूजा की जाती है। इस परंपरा का उद्देश्य ईश्वर के प्रति आभार प्रकट करना और ईश्वर की इच्छाओं को पूरा करना और मन की इच्छा पूरी होने पर जलीय जीवों के भोजन की व्यवस्था करना है।
3. इस अवसर पर भगवान झूले लाल की मूर्ति की पूजा की जाती है। पूजा के दौरान, सभी लोग एक स्वर में जय घोष गाते हैं और कहते हैं "चेट्टी चंद जून लाख-लख वधयूं"।
4. पानी यानी वरुण देवता की पूजा भी चीटी चंद के अवसर पर की जाती है। क्योंकि भगवान झूले लाल को जल के देवता के अवतार के रूप में भी पूजा जाता है। इस दिन सिंधु नदी के तट पर पूजा को "चलिहो साहब" कहा जाता है। सिंधी समुदाय के लोग जल देवता से प्रार्थना करते हैं कि वे बुरी शक्तियों से बचाएं।
5. चेटी चंद के अवसर पर, सिंधी समाज के मंदिरों में नवजात शिशुओं का मुंडन भी किया जाता है।

चेट्टी चंद से संबंधित किंवदंती

चेट्टी चांद पर्व सिंधी नववर्ष का उद्घाटन दिवस है। उसी दिन, विक्रम संवत 1007 ईस्वी सन् 951 ई। में, भगवान झूले लाल का जन्म सिंध प्रांत के नरपुर शहर में माता देवकी के घर रतन लाल लुहाना में हुआ था। भगवान झूले लाल को लाल साईं, उदेरो लाल, वरुण देव और जिंदा पीर के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। भगवान झूले लाल ने धर्म की रक्षा के लिए कई कारनामे किए। भगवान झूलेलाल ने हिंदू-मुस्लिम की एकता पर अपने विचार दिए और एक ईश्वर के सिद्धांत पर जोर दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि "ईश्वर एक है और हम सभी को शांति से रहना चाहिए"। इस वजह से, हिंदू और मुस्लिम दोनों समुदाय भगवान झूले लाल की पूजा करते हैं।

Chetty Chand

Chetty Chand is a major festival celebrated by the Sindhi community. This festival is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Lord Jhule Lal, the deity of Sindhi society, hence it is also known as Jhulelal Jayanti. The Sindhi New Year begins with this festival. Cheti Chand Parv is celebrated on the second day of the Shukla Paksha in Chaitra month. On this occasion, people of Sindhi community worship the God of Varuna to wish for happiness and prosperity in life. Because Lord Jhule Lal is considered to be the incarnation of the god of water. The Cheti Chand festival is no longer confined to religious significance but has also come to be known as a symbol of the Indus civilization.

Cheti Chand Puja Vidhi

On the occasion of Chetty Chand, Shobha Yatra of Lord Jhule Lal is carried out by Sindhi community. Apart from this, many religious and cultural programs are organized on this day.

1. The morning of Cheti Chand begins with the darshan of Tikhane (temples) and blessings of the elderly.
2. On the day of Cheti Chand, people of Sindhi community carry out the tradition of Bahirana Sahib on the banks of river and lake. Bahirana Sahib is worshiped by placing a lamp, mishri, vermilion, clove, cardamom, fruit on the dough and it is carried in the river. The purpose of this tradition is to show gratitude to God and fulfill the wishes of God and arrange the food of aquatic organisms when the desire of the mind is fulfilled.
3. The idol of Lord Jhule Lal is worshiped on this occasion. During the pooja, all people sing Jai Ghosh in one voice and say "Chetty Chand Joon Lakh-Lakh Wadhayun".
4. Water i.e. Varuna deity is also worshiped on the occasion of Cheti Chand. Because Lord Jhule Lal is also worshiped as an incarnation of the god of water. On this day worship is called "Chaliho sahab" on the banks of the Indus river. The people of Sindhi community pray to the water god to protect them from evil forces.
5. On the occasion of Cheti Chand, newborn babies are also shaved in temples in Sindhi society.

Legend related to Chetty Chand

Chetty Chand Parv is the inaugural day of Sindhi New Year. On the same day, in the Vikram Samvat 1007 AD 951 AD, Lord Jhule Lal was born in Ratan Lal Luhana's home to Mother Devaki in Naraspur city of Sindh province. Lord Jhule Lal is also known as Lal Sai, Udero Lal, Varun Dev and Zinda Pir. Lord Jhule Lal did many adventures to protect the religion. Lord Jhulelal gave his views on the unity of Hindu-Muslim and emphasized the principle of one God. He said that "God is one and we should all live together in peace". Because of this, both Hindu and Muslim communities worship Lord Jhule Lal.
