जया एकादशी के दिन भगवान विष्णु की पूजा की जाती है। पूजा में भगवान विष्णु को फूल, जल, अक्षत, रोली और विशेष सुगंधित पदार्थ चढ़ाना चाहिए। जया एकादशी का यह व्रत बहुत ही शुभ होता है। ऐसा माना जाता है कि इस दिन उपवास करने वाले व्यक्ति को भूत, पिशाच जैसी योनि में जाने का भय नहीं होता है।

जया एकादशी व्रत विधि

इस दिन भगवान विष्णु की पूजा और आराधना की जाती है। इस व्रत की पूजा विधि इस प्रकार है:

1. जया एकादशी व्रत के लिए उपासक को उपवास के पहले दशमी के दिन उसी समय सात्विक भोजन लेना चाहिए। व्रत को संयमित रखना चाहिए और ब्रह्मचर्य का पालन करना चाहिए।
2. सुबह स्नान करने के बाद, उपवास का संकल्प लेने के बाद भगवान विष्णु के श्री कृष्ण अवतार की धूप, दीप, फल और पंचामृत आदि अर्पित करके पूजा करनी चाहिए।
3. रात्रि में जागरण कर श्री हरि के नाम से भजन करना चाहिए।
4. द्वादशी के दिन किसी जरूरतमंद व्यक्ति या ब्राह्मण को भोजन कराकर, भिक्षा और दान देकर उपवास करना चाहिए।

जया एकादशी व्रत की कथा

पौराणिक मान्यता के अनुसार, धर्मराज युधिष्ठिर के आग्रह पर भगवान श्रीकृष्ण ने जया एकादशी व्रत का महत्व और कथा सुनाई। इस कथा के अनुसार:

इंद्र की सभा में उत्सव चल रहा था। देवता, संत और दिव्य पुरुष सभी उत्सव में उपस्थित थे। उस समय गंधर्व गाने गा रहे थे और गंधर्व लड़कियां नाच रही थीं। इन गंधर्वों में मालवीय नाम का एक गंधर्व था जिसने बहुत मधुर गीत गाया था। उसकी आवाज उसकी सुरीली आवाज जितनी खूबसूरत थी। दूसरी ओर, गंधर्व कन्याओं में पुष्यवती नाम की एक सुंदर नर्तकी भी थी। पुष्यवती और माल्यवान एक-दूसरे को देखते हैं और अपना सुध-बुध खो देते हैं और अपनी लय और ताल से विचलित हो जाते हैं। देवराज इंद्र उसके इस कृत्य से क्रोधित हो जाते हैं और उसे शाप देते हैं कि वह स्वर्ग से वंचित हो जाएगा और मृत्यु की दुनिया में एक पिशाच की तरह जीवित रहेगा।

श्राप के प्रभाव से दोनों प्रेत योनि में चले गए और कष्ट उठाने लगे। पिच्छी जीवन बहुत दर्दनाक था। दोनों बहुत दुखी थे। माघ माह में शुक्ल पक्ष की एकादशी का समय था। दिन भर में दोनों ने सिर्फ एक बार ही किया था। रात में भगवान से प्रार्थना करते हुए, वह अपने कार्यों पर पश्चाताप भी कर रहा था। इसके बाद सुबह तक दोनों की मौत हो गई। अनजाने में, लेकिन उन्होंने एकादशी का उपवास किया और इस प्रभाव के कारण, उन्होंने प्रेत योनि से छुटकारा पा लिया और फिर से स्वर्ग चले गए।

Legend of Jaya Ekadashi fast

According to mythological belief, Lord Shri Krishna, on the insistence of Dharmaraja Yudhishthira, narrated the importance and story of Jaya Ekadashi fast. According to this legend:

The celebration was going on in Indra's assembly. Gods, saints and divine men were all present in the festival. At that time the Gandharvas were singing songs and the Gandharva girls were dancing. Among these Gandharvas was a Gandharva named Mallywan who sang very melodiously. Her voice was as beautiful as her melodious voice. On the other hand, there was also a beautiful dancer named Pushyavati among the Gandharva girls. Pushyavati and Malyavan look at each other and lose their Sudha-Mercury and deviate from their rhythm and rhythm. Devraj Indra gets angry with this act of his and curses him that he will be deprived of heaven and live like a vampire in the world of death.

With the effect of curse, both of them went into the phantom vagina and started suffering. Pishchi life was very painful. Both were very unhappy. There was a time of Shukla Paksha Ekadashi in Magh month. Throughout the day both of them had done only once. Praying to God at night, he was also repenting his actions. After this, both died by morning. Unknowingly, but he fasted on Ekadashi and due to this effect, he got rid of the phantom life and went to heaven again.
