कामदा एकादशी के दिन भगवान वासुदेव की पूजा की जाती है। इस एकादशी व्रत को भगवान विष्णु का सर्वश्रेष्ठ व्रत कहा जाता है। इस व्रत के प्रभाव से सभी मनोकामनाएं पूर्ण होती हैं और पापों का क्षय होता है। इस एकादशी व्रत से एक दिन पहले यानी दशमी की दोपहर को, जौ, गेहूं और मूंग आदि खाकर भगवान को याद करना चाहिए।

कामदा एकादशी व्रत पूजा विधि

कामदा एकादशी व्रत की पूजा विधि जो मनोकामना पूरी करती है वह इस प्रकार है:

1. इस दिन सुबह स्नान आदि से निवृत्त होकर व्रत का संकल्प लें और भगवान की पूजा करें।
2. दिन भर समय-समय पर भगवान विष्णु का स्मरण करें और रात में पूजा स्थल के पास जागरण करना चाहिए।
3. एकादशी के अगले दिन यानी द्वादशी को व्रत करना चाहिए।
4. एकादशी व्रत में ब्राह्मण भोजन और दक्षिणा का महत्व होता है, इसलिए पारन के दिन ब्राह्मण को भोजन कराएं और दक्षिणा दें। इसके बाद ही भोजन लें।

पौराणिक कथा

कामदा एकादशी की कहानी भगवान श्री कृष्ण ने पांडु के पुत्र धर्मराज युधिष्ठिर को सुनाई थी। इससे पहले वशिष्ठ मुनि ने राजा दिलीप को इस व्रत की महिमा बताई थी, जो इस प्रकार है:

प्राचीन समय में, पुंडरिक नाम का एक राजा भोगीपुर शहर में शासन करता था। उसके शहर में कई अप्सराएँ, यमदूत और गंधर्व निवास करते थे और उनका दरबार इन लोगों से भरा हुआ था। प्रतिदिन गन्धर्वों और किन्नरों का गायन होता था। यह शहर रूपसी अप्सरा के रूप में रहा करता था जिसका नाम ललिता था और उसका पति ललित, एक श्रेष्ठ गंधर्व था। दोनों के बीच अपार स्नेह था और वे हमेशा एक-दूसरे की यादों में खोए रहते थे।

एक समय था जब गंधर्व ललित राजा के दरबार में गाना गा रहे थे कि अचानक उन्हें अपनी पत्नी ललिता की याद आई। इस वजह से वह अपनी आवाज पर नियंत्रण नहीं रख सका। कर्कट नाम के सर्प ने इस बात को महसूस किया और राजा पुंडरिक को यह बात बताई। यह सुनकर राजा क्रोधित हो गए और ललित को राक्षस होने का श्राप दे दिया। इसके बाद, ललित कई वर्षों तक योनि में भटकता रहा। उसकी पत्नी ने भी उसका पीछा किया लेकिन अपने पति को इस हालत में देखकर वह दुखी हो गई।

कुछ वर्ष बीतने के बाद, ललित की पत्नी ललिता भटकते हुए ऋषि ऋषिमुख के पास गई जो विंध्य पर्वत पर रहते थे और अपने शापित पति के उद्धार का उपाय पूछने लगे। ऋषि ने उस पर दया की। उन्होंने कामदा एकादशी व्रत का पालन करने को कहा। उनका आशीर्वाद प्राप्त करने के बाद, गंधर्व पत्नी अपने स्थान पर लौट आई और उन्होंने श्रद्धापूर्वक कामदा एकादशी मनाई। इस एकादशी व्रत के प्रभाव के कारण, उनका श्राप मिट गया और दोनों ने अपना गंधर्व रूप प्राप्त किया।

Kamada Ekadashi

Lord Vasudev is worshiped on the day of Kamada Ekadashi. This Ekadashi fast is said to be the best fast of Lord Vishnu. With the effect of this fast, all desires are fulfilled and sins are eradicated. One day before this Ekadashi fast i.e. on the afternoon of Dashami, one should remember God by eating barley, wheat and moong etc.

Kamada Ekadashi fast worship method

The worship method of Kamada Ekadashi fast which fulfills the wishes is as follows:

1. On this day in the morning, retire from bath, etc., and take a resolution of the fast and worship God.
2. Remember Lord Vishnu from time to time throughout the day and should do Jagran near the place of worship at night.
3. On the next day of Ekadashi, i.e. Dwadashi, one should fast.
4. In Ekadashi fast, Brahmin food and Dakshina are important, so on the day of Parana, give food to Brahmin and give away Dakshina. Take food only after this.

mythology

The story of Kamada Ekadashi was narrated by Lord Shri Krishna to Pandu's son Dharmaraja Yudhishthira. Earlier, Vashishta Muni had told King Dilip the glory of this fast, which is as follows:

In ancient times, a king named Pundarik ruled in Bhogipur city. Many nymphs, eunuchs and Gandharvas resided in his city and his court was full of these people. There were singing of Gandharvas and Kinnars every day. The city used to live as Rupasi Apsara named Lalitha and her husband Lalit, a superior Gandharva. There was immense affection between the two and they were always lost in each other's memories.

There was a time when Gandharva was singing in the court of Lalit Raja that, suddenly he remembered his wife Lalita. Because of this, he could not control his voice. The serpent named Karkat realized this thing and told this thing to King Pundarik. Hearing this, the king was angry and cursed Lalit to be a demon. After this, Lalit wandered in the vagina for many years. His wife also followed him but she was saddened to see her husband in this condition.

After a few years passed, wandering Lalit's wife Lalitha went to the sage Sagemuk who lived on the Vindhya mountain and began to ask for the remedy of the salvation of her cursed husband. The sage took pity on him. He asked to observe Kamada Ekadashi fast. After receiving his blessings, the Gandharva wife returned to her place and she devoutly celebrated Kamada Ekadashi. Due to the effect of this Ekadashi fast, their curse was erased and both achieved their Gandharva form.
