वरुथिनी एकादशी

वरुथिनी एकादशी का व्रत सुख और सौभाग्य का प्रतीक है। वरुथिनी एकादशी व्रत के प्रभाव से समस्त पाप, ताप व दुख दूर होते हैं और अनंत शक्ति मिलती है। इस भक्तिभाव से भगवान मधुसुदन की पूजा करनी चाहिए। सूर्य ग्रहण के समय जो फल स्वर्ण दान करने से प्राप्त होता है, वही फल वरूथिनी एकादशी का उपवास करने से मिलता है। इस व्रत के प्रभाव से मनुष्य लोक और परलोक दोनों में सुख भोगता है।

वरुथिनी एकादशी व्रत पूजा विधि

इस दिन व्रत करने वाले मनुष्य को सर्वप्रथम ब्रह्मचर्य व्रत का पालन करना चाहिये। दूसरों की बुराई और दुष्ट लोगों की संगत से बचना चाहिए। इस व्रत की पूजा विधि इस प्रकार है:

1.  व्रत से एक दिन पूर्व यानि दशमी को एक ही बार भोजन करना चाहिए।
2.  व्रत वाले दिन प्रात:काल स्नान के बाद व्रत का संकल्प लेकर भगवान की पूजा करनी चाहिए।
3.  व्रत की अवधि में तेल से बना भोजन, दूसरे का अन्न, शहद, चना, मसूर की दाल, कांसे के बर्तन में भोजन नहीं करना चाहिए। व्रती को सिर्फ एक ही बार भोजन करना चाहिए।
4.  रात्रि में भगवान का स्मरण करते हुए जागरण करें और अगले दिन द्वादशी को व्रत का पारण करना चाहिए।

व्रत वाले दिन शास्त्र चिंतन और भजन-कीर्तन करना चाहिए और झूठ बोलने व क्रोध करने से बचना चाहिए।

वरुथिनी एकादशी व्रत का महत्व

यह व्रत बहुत पुण्यदायी होता है। धार्मिक मान्यता है कि ब्राह्मण को दान देने, करोड़ो वर्ष तक ध्यान करने और कन्या दान से मिलने वाले फल से भी बढ़कर है वरुथिनी एकादशी का व्रत। इस व्रत को करने से भगवान मधुसुदन की कृपा होती है। मनुष्य के दुख दूर होते हैं और सौभाग्य में वृद्धि होती है।

पौराणिक कथा

एक समय अर्जुन के आग्रह करने पर भगवान श्री कृष्ण ने वरुथिनी एकादशी की कथा और उसके महत्व का वर्णन किया, जो इस प्रकार है:

प्राचीन काल में नर्मदा नदी के तट पर मान्धाता नामक राजा का राज्य था। वह अत्यन्त दानशील और तपस्वी राजा था। एक समय जब वह जंगल में तपस्या कर रहा था। उसी समय जंगली भालू आकर उसका पैर चबाने लगा। इसके बाद भालू राजा को घसीट कर वन में ले गया। तब राजा घबराया, तपस्या धर्म का पालन करते हुए उसने क्रोध न करके भगवान विष्णु से प्रार्थना की।

राजा की पुकार सुनकर भगवान विष्णु वहां प्रकट हुए़ और चक्र से भालू का वध कर दिया। तब तक भालू राजा का एक पैर खा चुका था। इससे राजा मान्धाता बहुत दुखी थे। भगवान श्री विष्णु ने राजा की पीड़ा को देखकर कहा कि- ‘’मथुरा जाकर तुम मेरी वाराह अवतार मूर्ति की पूजा और वरूथिनी एकादशी का व्रत करो, इसके प्रभाव से भालू ने तुम्हारा जो अंग काटा है, वह अंग ठीक हो जायेगा। तुम्हारा यह पैर पूर्वजन्म के अपराध के कारण हुआ है।’’ भगवान विष्णु की आज्ञा अनुसार राजा ने इस व्रत को पूरी श्रद्धा के साथ किया और वह फिर से सुन्दर अंग वाला हो गया।

Varuthini Ekadashi

The fast of Varuthini Ekadashi signifies happiness and good luck. All sins, heat and grief are removed by the influence of Varuthini Ekadashi fast and you get eternal power. Lord Madhusudan should be worshiped with this devotion. At the time of solar eclipse, the fruit which is obtained by donating gold, the same is obtained from fasting of Varuthini Ekadashi. Due to the effect of this fast, man enjoys happiness in both the world and the hereafter.

Varuthini Ekadashi fasting method

A person fasting on this day should first observe Brahmacharya fast. The evil of others and the company of evil people should be avoided. The worship method of this fast is as follows:

1. One day before fasting, i.e. Dashmi should be eaten only once.
2. After bathing in the morning on the fast, one should worship God by taking a vow to fast.
3. During the fast period, food made with oil, other grains, honey, gram, lentils and lentils should not be eaten in a bronze vessel. The fast should be eaten only once.
4. Awakening in remembrance of God at night and on the next day Dwadashi should fast.

On the day of fasting, one should do scripture thinking and bhajan-kirtan and avoid lying and anger.

Importance of Varuthini Ekadashi fast
This fast is very virtuous. Religious belief is that the fast of Varuthini Ekadashi is more than the donation of Brahmin, meditating for millions of years, and the fruits of female charity. By observing this fast, Lord Madhusudan is pleased. Human suffering ends and good luck increases.

Once upon request of Arjuna, Lord Shri Krishna narrated the story of Varuthini Ekadashi and its significance, which is as follows:

In ancient times there was the kingdom of a king named Mandhata on the banks of river Narmada. He was a very benevolent and ascetic king. At one time when he was doing penance in the forest. At the same time, the wild bear came and chewed his leg. After this, the bear dragged the king to the forest. Then the king panicked, following the austerity religion, he did not get angry and prayed to Lord Vishnu.

Hearing the call of the king, Lord Vishnu appeared there and killed the bear with the wheel. By then, the bear had eaten one leg of the king. King Mandhata was very unhappy with this. Seeing the pain of the king, Lord Vishnu said that- "Go to Mathura and worship my Varaha Avatar idol and observe Varuthini Ekadashi, due to its effect, the part that the bear has cut from you, that part will be cured. This leg of yours is due to the crime of previous birth. "As per the order of Lord Vishnu, the king performed this fast with full devotion and he again became a beautiful organ.
