Brahmacharini means a dedicated female student who lives in an ashram with her mentor along with other students. It is also the name for another aspect of Goddess Durga (Parvati). The goddess is worshiped on the second day of Navratri (nine celestials). Nights of Navadurga). Goddess Brahmacharini wears white clothes, holds a chanting mala (garland) in her right hand and a kamandal of water in her left hand.
According to various versions of her myths, Mata Parvati vows to marry Shiva. Her parents learn of her desire, discourage her, but she follows him for what she wants and he tapped for nearly 5000 years. Meanwhile the Gods approached Kamadeva, the God of desire, sensual love, attraction and affection and asked him to instill a wish in Shiva for Parvati. He did this because of an asura named Tarakasura, who had the blessing of being killed only by the child of Lord Shiva. Kama approaches Shiva and shoots Kamna's arrow. Shiva opened his third eye in his forehead and burned Kamdev to ashes. Parvati does not lose her hope or resolve to conquer Shiva. She starts living in the mountains like Shiva, engaging in the same activities as Shiva, Tapa, Yogin and one of the Tapas - this is the aspect of Parvati who is considered to be the Goddess Brahmacharini. His penance attracts Shiva's attention and arouses his interest. He meets her in disguised form, trying to discourage her by stating Shiva's weaknesses and personality problems. Parvati refused to listen and insisted in her resolve. Shiva finally accepts her and they get married.
