Mahagauri Mata - the eighth day of Navratri.
Mahagauri (Sanskrit: महागौरी, IAST: महागौरी) is the eighth and one of the Navdurgas of Goddess Durga. Mahagauri is worshiped on the eighth day of Navratri. According to Hindu mythology, Goddess Mahagauri has the power to fulfill all the wishes of her devotees. One who worships the Goddess gets freedom from all the sufferings in life. Mahagauri has four arms. His right hand is in fearful posture and the right lower hand holds a trident in it. She holds a tambura in her left upper arm and the lower one as a blessing.
The name Mahagauri means extremely white, because she was white in color and very beautiful (Maha, Maha = great; Gauri, Gauri = white). Mahagauri is usually depicted with four hands, one holding a trident, a lotus and a drum, while the fourth is a blessing gesture. The lotus is sometimes replaced by a garland. She rides a white bull, which is usually shown wearing white clothes.
