वैसे तो साल में एक बार मनाई जाने वाली महाशिवरात्रि को बहुत महत्वपूर्ण माना जाता है, लेकिन इसके अलावा, साल में कई शिवरात्रि मनाई जाती हैं, जो प्रत्येक माह के कृष्ण पक्ष की चतुर्दशी तिथि को मनाई जाती हैं। अमंत पंचांग के अनुसार, माघ के महीने में आने वाले मासिक शिवरात्रि को महा शिवरात्रि कहा जाता है। लेकिन पूर्णिमांत पंचांग के अनुसार, फाल्गुन माह के मासिक शिवरात्रि को महाशिवरात्रि के रूप में मान्यता प्राप्त है।

मासिक शिवरात्रि व्रत विधि
